7 What’s next?
7.1 Provider status
During your testing period you will be operating as a “demo” provider.
To become a trusted AVHS provider you will need your own partner account which Axis will create for you. Please contact Axis for
further details.
As a signed partner you will get your own provider name, password and brandspec to use in the files
config/dispatcher-conf.php
(see
5.1 Dispatcher configuration on page 20
) and
setup/avhs_config.ini
(see
Edit the AVHS configuration file
). From this point on, registering a device will require a real owner authentication key (OAK), which is
skipped with each purchased device. Note however that your old devices can still be configured to go directly to your system.
A fully operational AVHS portal has the following benefits:
•
The device and the AVHS portal can identify and authorize each other.
•
The user cannot move the device to a provider other than the one subscribed to (i.e. yours).
7.2 Optional extra components
The AVHS portal can be configured to send various types of notification messages. Depending on your requirements, you may
need the following:
•
An SMTP server for sending e-mail messages notifying users of alarms. For the AVHS portal to send password notifications
to new users, an SMTP server is required.
•
An SMS gateway and a program for sending SMS text messages to mobile phones.
For information on how to set up these components, refer to the documentation on the AVHS website available from the Partner
Pages on
www.axis.com/partner
.
