CONNECTION TO TELCO MODULES OR REMOTE DEVICES (GPIO
REMOTE)
The remote interface of BoxTel MKII and BoxTel MKII GSM is based on a 9 pin SubD connector and features the
following functions:
1. Remote telephone line hooking
2. Incoming call signal
The interface has been designed for rapid connection to the Oxygen 5 and Oxygen 7 consoles by Axel Technology.

Signal of incoming call via Telco
A Boxtel internal optocoupler (Pin 8 = collector and Pin 1 = emitter - indicated by
A
in the figure below) provides a low
resistance closure (about 150 Ohm) whenever the line “rings”. The maximum current allowed is 10mA.

A
call indicator LED
(RING LED) can be connected externally through a

resistor
(see R in Figure 1). In this
case
pin 6
of the interface must be
powered
by means of + 6 V DC voltage.

The same internal optocoupler A can directly drive an external signal light (such as

by
Axel Technology)
. In
this case pin 8 of the interface must be connected to the central pin of the connector of the Mr. Light lamp.
