System concept
Using the ISDN Codec over its X.21 interface, up to 10 encoded audio signals
can be transmitted over a data network. The additional Codecs are connected
to the MAGIC ISDN system over an extension bus.
More comprehensive information on the MAGIC EXTENSION system is con-
tained in the MAGIC BASIC System Hardware Description. The special fea-
tures of the MAGIC ISDN Audio Codec are as follows.

Construction of MAGIC ISDN Audio Codec
The

unit consists of a two-part housing, a back-plane, the power
supply, the front keypad with two-line display and the front panel.
FIGURE 2.1shows the closed housing of the
+5&0
unit, FIGURE 2.2 shows the
open view of the equipment. FIGURE 2.3 is a rear view of the system with the
various connectors. FIGURE 2.4 is a view of the system with the front panel
and display removed. Shown here are board mounting slots 1 to 3. These
mouting slots can be variously equipped.
