Router Update

The Router Update allows the user to convert the Ethernet Router in the CIP to either a “customized router”, a “Layer
2 Network Switch”, or to verify the current functionality of the CIP.
5.4.
Configuring as a Network Switch
The “Convert to Switch” button will automatically configure the router to map all ports to a Layer 2 network bridge. All
ports will then be connected; this includes the port labeled WAN and the port on the front of the CIP.
Upon completion the application will notify the user that the job was successfully completed or not.
The CIP must be
power cycled for the changes to take effect.

5.5.
Configuring as an Ethernet Router
The “Convert to Router” button will begin by asking the user if they wish to customize the router. This includes IP
addresses, DHCP functionality, etc.
