MLN-192 Option Card Installation
5
4
Align the PCIe connector on the card with the corresponding
PCIe port, and align the flange on the card with the retaining
clip on the PC board.
5
Applying pressure along the full length of the card, press it
firmly into the PCIe port and clip. When fully seated, the re-
taining clip moves into its closed position.
6
When the card is properly seated in the slot, tighten the exte-
rior captive thumbscrew to secure the faceplate of the card to
the back panel of the E6L.
7
Tighten the rear bracket captive thumbscrew to secure the
back of the card to the back bracket.
8
Orient the Option Card bracket with the tall side closest to you.
9
Secure the bracket to the chassis by tightening two of the cap-
tive screws.
10
Proceed to “Re-Install the AVB-192 Cards” on page 9.
E6L-112
If you are installing an MLN-192 card into an E6L-112, the
MLN-192 card can be installed in Expansion slot 1,
or
into AVB
Network slot 3.
The MLN-192 card is shipped from the factory ready to be in-
stalled in an Expansion slot 1. However, if you already have a
MADI-192 card installed in Expansion slot 1, or plan to install a
MADI-192 in the near future, you can replace the factory face-
plate on the MLN-192 card and install it in Network slot 3.
E6L-112 engines support a maximum of two Option cards, in-
stalled into Expansion slot 1 and/or Network slot 3, as explained
in “Appendix B: E6L-112 Card and Slot Configurations” on
page 15.
Note: WSG-HD is only supported in Network slot 3 in E6L-112.
Determine which E6L-112 slot you want to use, then proceed to
either of the following:
• “Installing MLN-192 Card into Expansion Slot 1” on page 6
• “Installing the MLN-192 Card into Network Slot 3” on page 8
Figure 16. Retaining clip closed, when card is fully seated
Figure 17. Securing the card to the back bracket
Tightening the rear bracket captive thumbscrew can make it
difficult to re-install other cards above the MLN-192 card. If
this occurs, leave these rear bracket captive thumbscrews un-
attached until all cards are re-installed, then tighten them to
secure each card to the back bracket.

When installing a single MADI-192 card into an E6L-112,
the MADI card must be installed in Expansion slot 1.

Do not install MLN-192 Option cards into Network slot 3 on
E6L-192 or E6L-144 engines.
