On your VENUE system, go to the Options
page, click the
Interaction
tab, and click the
Con-
trol Settings
button in to the Ethernet Control
section.

Enter a name for your VENUE system in the
System Name box, and click
Apply
.

Click the
Network Settings
button, select
Obtain
Address Automatically
and
click
Apply
.

Wait until the VENUE System is assigned an IP
address. This may take time (up to two minutes).

Automatically Setting the Computer IP
Address
After setting the IP address for your VENUE sys-
tem using DHCP, you need to do the same for
your Pro Tools computer.
To automatically set the IP address in Windows:

Go to Control Panel > Network Connections.

Right-click
Local Area Connection
(or
Wireless
Network Connection
for wireless connections)
and choose
Properties
.

In the Connection Properties window, double-
click
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
.

In the Internet Protocol Properties window,
select
Obtain an Address Automatically
.

Click
OK
to close the Internet Protocol proper-
ties window.

Click
OK
to close the Network Connection
Properties window.

To automatically set the IP address on a Mac:

Launch System Preferences > Network.

Do one of the following depending on your
type of connection:
• For wired connections, choose
Ethernet
from the network connections services list.
– or –
• For wireless connections, choose
Airport
from the network connections services list,
choose your network, and enter a password
if necessary. Once connected, go to “En-
abling VENUE Link” on page 45.

Make a note of the number that appears in
the TCP/UDP Port box (the default number
is 29292). It must match the TCP/UDP port
number found on the VENUE tab of the
Setup > Peripherals menu in Pro Tools.
