There is a special hook welded to the left
bracket on the rear bumper to hold a
rope in case of recovery.

With the engine off, the power
steering and brake booster are out
of function.

Use only the tow bar to tow the
vehicle; other connection is not
permitted.
Warning!
Disconnecting the propeller
shaft
n
Secure the vehicle against motion.
n
Dismount bolts fixing the propeller
shaft to the axle final drive housing
flange.
n
Attach the propeller shaft to the vehi-
cle frame in a suitable manner.
n
After the vehicle towing and repair
have been accomplished, remount the
propeller shaft to the axle final drive
housing flange again; tighten the self-
locking nuts to
M
k
= 60±10 Nm.
n
Use the pin to attach the towing bar
in the middle part of the front bumper.
n
When towing the vehicle with the
engine at standstill and no gear speed
shifted in gearbox, disconnect the pro-
peller shaft not to damage the gearbox
due to insufficient lubrication and rele-
ase the spring-loaded cylinder in ac-
cordance with Chapter "Parking bra-
ke".
n
The ratio of the towed and towing
vehicles weights must be
1.4:1
at least.
