For night flight:
Use nose landing lights to taxi, and under-body landing light for take-off. Anti-
collision, navigation and strobe lamps should be used in accordance with night
operational requirements. Instrument panel lighting must be on and dimmed to an
appropriate level.
Use the pitot heat (where fitted) either before or during flight as required to ensure
that the pitot remains clear of ice.
If there is any consideration that the static ports could be blocked, switch from
primary (uses the ports either side of the body) to secondary (vents inside the cabin).
There is normally negligible difference in level flight between the two ports, as can be
seen by switching between the two.
CAUTION
If the canopy is covered in rain drops or fogged up, ensure it is cleared before
commencing take-off. Stop and clear the screen if required.
