6 Color Correction and Color
Filtration
The color filtration and color correction tools can be used to prepare an image for
further, more complicated operations, such as binarization, layering, raster editing
and vectorization. The color filters are also used for image enhancement after
operations that move image objects or change the resolution, such as scaling,
aligning, rotation, calibration or four-point correction.
In this chapter the following color correction procedures and color image filtration
procedures are described:
·
Conversion to RGB
·
Correction using a histogram – redistribution of image brightness and
contrast values
·
Modifying brightness, contrast, hue and saturation
·
Blur
·
Unsharp Mask
·
Median
Conversion to RGB, grayscale and 8-bit indexed
Every image in WiseImage can be converted to grayscale, RGB (24 bits per color)
and 8-bit indexed image.
Conversion operations can be applied to several images of an appropriate type at
once. So, if several images are inserted in the current drawing and they are
available (visible, allocated on unlocked layers), you should select a group of raster
images before running this operation.
By converting monochrome images to grayscale or RGB you make possible to
apply color filters to the image (Blur, Unsharp, Median).
Conversion of a
color image to 8-bit indexed is the tool facilitating color management.

This operation is not applicable for images with clipping boundary.
