Periodic
Maintenance
Operations
Air filter (fig.1)
The engine uses a dry type filter with double cartridge. Correct maintenance of the air filter is
essential for the engine performance as well as to the life of the engine. To clean the filter ele-
ment of accumulated dust and dirt, remove the filter element and, from the inside, blow out the
element using air line with pressure not exceeding 60psi (5 bar). This should be performed at 100
hours intervals. For air filter cartridge service.See MAINTENANCE CHART.
If the forklift works in dusty area, the filter element should be changed more frequently than
normal specification.
Note: The filter has a clogging indicator. If this indicator in the control panel is lit, the filter ele-
ment should be serviced as soon as possible.
Fuel filter
To protect the internal working parts of the engine's injection system it is extremely important
that only clean diesel fuel, meeting the standard of ASTM D-975-77-Grades NO1 -D and 2-d, be
used. The diesel fuel filter element should be changed at 500 hours (CH200) and 450 hours (CH
250) intervals. See Maintenance Chart.
Fuel prefilter (fig. 2)
On the CH 250 there is a fuel prefilter. It has to be serviced at 150 hours intervals and repla-
ced every 300 hours.
Wheels
Check weekly the fastening torque of the wheel nuts.
Torque: 258 lb ft; 35,7 mkg / 350 Nm.
Unless it was strictly necessary due to the operation requirements, it is not recommended to
assemble solid tyres on the machine because as there is not any suspension system on it, dri-
ving on rough terrain all the impacts are transfered to the mechanical parts, increasing the stress,
the risk of breakdown and the disconfort of the driver.
Service brake and parking
This machine has a brake which doesn’t need any maintenance. If the brake pedal (fig.3) down
so much, contact your AUSA dealer for bleeding operation or replacement of the internal disks.
The only service needed in the brake circuit is to replace the fluid according with the mantenan-
ce chart.
To replace the fluid carry out the following tasks:
Remove the draining cap, of the button of the brake housing (fig.5)
Drain the fluid.
Tight again this draining cap.
Through the filling cap on the top of the brake housing (fig.6), fill with 0.0423 USgal (0,16 l) of oil
