Prior to installation, plan the wire routing to avoid any possible damage to the wire harness. All cabling should be protected
against possible crushing or pinching hazards. Also avoid routing cables close to potential noise sources such as electric
motors, high power accessories and other vehicle harnesses.
In order to ensure safe installation, solely use high-quality connection materials. As an aid to calculating the cross-sec-
tional requirements of power cables which are not longer than 5 m, we recommend max. 5 A per mm². For the amplifier
BRAX MX4 PRO we suggest a minimum cross section of 35 mm² for the positive 12 V supply lead as well for the ground
(chassis) cable. The remote lead should have a cross section of at least 1 mm². In order to ensure the ideal sound quality
and a distortion-free music reproduction, please make sure that all cables are securely fixed in the respective terminals.
Installation and features
1
Connecting the remote lead
The remote lead is connected to the remote / automatic antenna output of the head unit (radio). As soon as there is an
additional digital signal processor (DSP) implemented in the signal path, the remote output of the DSP has to be used to
turn on the MX4 PRO.
2
Connecting the ground cable
The ground cable should be connected to a common ground reference point (this is located where the negative terminal of
the battery is grounded to the metal body of the vehicle) or to a prepared metal location on the vehicle chassis i.e. an area
which has been cleaned of all paint residues. Recommended cross section: min. 35 mm².
3
Connecting the battery cable
Connect the +12 V power cable to the positive terminal of the battery. Recommended cross section: min. 35 mm².
4 - 5 Connectors for a BRAX Power Stabilizer
By connecting a BRAX Power Stabilizer peak loads in the power supply will be eliminated. Thus, the amplifier has always
enough power for maximum performance.
