Switching the mobile unit on and off
You can switch off the mobile unit by pressing and holding the
button. No battery
power is used if the mobile unit is switched off. It will not be possible to receive calls and
the handset lost your time settings.
You can switch the mobile unit on again by pressing and holding the
button. The
mobile unit will be ready to use again after a short time.
Note:
If the mobile part is switched off, you should set the current time again after
switching on.

Muting the microphone in the mobile unit
With the
MUTE
display button you can switch the microphone in the mobile unit on and
off again during a call. It is thus possible to speak without the other person hearing you.
The loudspeaker in the mobile unit remains switched on and you can continue to hear
the other person.
4.10 Setting the receiver and handsfree volume
If the receiver volume is too quiet or too loud for you, you can change this to suit your
requirements.
You can adjust the volume
during a call
by means of the cursor. The selected volume
will be shown in the display.
4.11 Keypad
lock
If you frequently carry the mobile unit with you, you can lock the keypad so that buttons
are not pressed unintentionally. When the keypad lock is switched on, incoming calls
can be received as normal.
Activating the keypad lock
Press and hold the
button on the mobile unit for one second. A key symbol will
appear in the display and one of the display buttons will be labelled
UNLOCK
.
Deactivating the keypad lock
To deactivate the keypad lock, press the
UNLOCK
display button and then
OK
.
4.12 Range
information
The range of the mobile unit is ca. 50 metres in closed rooms and ca. 300 metres
outdoors. When there is a good contact with the base station, the aerial symbol will
come on in the display. If you are too far away from the base station, the aerial symbol
will flash. In this case, move nearer to the base station once more, as otherwise the call
will be interrupted.
4.13 Paging from the base station to the mobile unit
If you cannot remember where you have left your mobile unit, press the
button on
the base station. You will hear the mobile unit audible signals for 30 seconds and thus
be able to find it again easily. You can cancel the audible signal prematurely by
pressing the
STOP
display button.
4.14 Headset connector
A connection facility for a headset with a 2.5 mm stereo jack plug is located on the left-
hand side of the mobile unit underneath a cover. Due to the large number of different
headsets, it is not possible to guarantee this function.
