Playing back the time and day on the answering machine
Press the
L
button at any time to play back the weekday and time set on the
machine.

Switching the telephone answering machine on/off
If the answering machine is switched on, is takes the incoming call after a pre-defined
number of rings (refer to 10.6.3).
The
Y
LED for the answering machine on the base station lights up when the
answering machine is switched on.
The answering machine is switched on and off by pressing the
M
button.
Note:
The answering machine can only record messages when there is
sufficient space available in the memory.

General settings
10.6.1
Maximum recording time
The answering machine can digitally record incoming messages up to a total time of
13 minutes. The maximum length for each incoming call is 2 minutes. If the caller
speaks for a longer period, an acoustic signal is issued and the call is disconnected. If
there is a pause in excess of 3 seconds during recording, the call is automatically
ended accompanied by an acoustic signal. When the memory capacity for incoming
messages is used up, no further messages are recorded. The caller receives a
message indicating that no messages can be left.
10.6.2
Setting the volume on the answering machine
If the volume of the answering machine is too high or low when playing back
messages or using the listening-in function, it can be adjusted to suit requirements.
Press the
T
and
W
buttons to adjust the volume to one of 5 levels. The level
currently set is indicated in the display by
L1
to
L5
.
L1
is the lowest volume.
Correspondingly,
L5
is the highest volume which can be set.
10.6.3
Delay taking the call
It is possible to set the number of times the telephone should ring before the
answering machine takes the calls. It can be set to between 2 and 7 rings. In addition,
the time-saver (charge saver) setting is available for pre-remote access functions.
Refer to Chapter 10.11.6.
