Parental Lock Function
The DVD is equipped with a parental lock feature. This feature is available only with video
discs that are programmed with this control function. Control functions are not universal and
may vary from one disc to another. Depending upon the disc programming, unsuitable material
may be replaced with more suitable material or may be locked out of the playback entirely.
1.
To set the parental lock security code, press SET UP while the DVD is in stop mode.
2.
Press the numerical 9 key to enter the parental-lock screen. Using the numerical keypad,
enter any four-digit code. This will become the security code used to change future
parental-lock settings. Press the CLEAR button if a mistake is made and enter a new
code number. (The chosen code must be entered before changing viewing levels).

Press ENTER to accept the security code. Press arrow bar to set the lock to the ON
position. Press ENTER.
4.
Press arrow bar or arrow bar to select the applicable country standards that
were used to rate the video disc. Press ENTER.
5.
The parental-lock screen will now display a list of viewing levels (equivalent USA movie
rating).
