ROOM LABEL
To advance to Room Labels, press the >> button when the display reads Source Labels.
All system room labels are stored in each control and the control head (on a Suite 8x8). MC-5500, MC-
4500, MC-6011 or Suite control heads with version 1.1 or greater firmware may edit 12 character room
labels and upload them to other controls. The keypad PC program also has room labeling ability.
While the display is reading ROOM LABELS, press the > button and the display will show SET ROOM 1.
You may choose a different room by using the << and >> buttons. Press the forward play > button again
to display the room label for the selected room. The first character will blink. Use the Up and Dn buttons
to change characters. The >> and << buttons advance the cursor position. When the desired room label
is properly displayed, press the > button to lock the label into memory. The keypad will echo LABEL OK.
Press the reverse play || button to get back to the set room menu and choose another room label to
change. Once all labels are set as desired, the PROGRAM ALL function will upload all 99 labels to all
other controls in the system.
MAX ROOM
In the max room menu, the maximum number of rooms in the system is set. This will limit the choices of
valid rooms for the room scan and keypad lock features. In the Suite control head this will limit the room
choices once it is uploaded using the PROGRAM ALL function.
Press the > button to enter max room setting. The display will show MAX ROOM = ## where ##is the last
room number. Use the fast wind << >> buttons to change the max room number. Changes are immedi-
ate. To exit, press the || button.
Check Setup
When CHECK SETUP is displayed, press the > to verify keypad source buttons to input connection,
source input label number, source name, and source control settings for that input. Using the Up and Dn
buttons, select the other sources and the display will cycle between these four settings. To step back to
the previous level, press the < button.
Program All
Program All takes the information, including keypad source buttons, input assignments, source control
assignments, source labels, as well as room names and uploads them to all other keypads currently on
the ADA Bus. If you have some keypads currently on the ADA Bus that are custom programmed, you will
want to disconnect them because the Program All function will load them with the programming that is
internal to the keypad that is initiating the Program All. To program other keypads, use the >> or <<
buttons until the display reads PROGRAM ALL. Then press the > button and the display will read UP-
LOAD READY. To abort, press the || button. To begin the upload, press the > button again. The keypad
that is uploading will display UPLOADING. The keypads being programmed will read PROGRAMMING.
When the programming is complete, the keypad will exit the Installer Mode and the displays will read
UPLOAD DONE and PROGRAM DONE respectively.
To prevent Program All Errors, you should disconnect all IRR-5000s, BRT-1s, CMB-1s, and defeat the
IR receivers on MC-5511s and MC-5011s. Active IR receivers as well as the Baud Rate Translator and
Clock Modules can interfere with the complex Program All routine and cause programming errors.
MC-4500, MC-5500, and MC-6011 keypads automatically turn their IR receivers off during a Program All.
MC-6011 keypads can upload to all keypads MC-4500 and MC-5500 keypads can upload to MC-6011
keypads but only eight sources. MC-5000 keypads can upload but do not have the ability to create room
names and the maximum room number.
