Note 3
: for water drawn from a well it is advisable to carry out routine maintenance once a month, repeating the
operation 2 or 3 times in a row if required, after letting suspended matter settle for a few seconds.
WARNING:
During the washing stage, filtered water is still supplied to the utility.
It is advisable to stop the supply of water to the utilities by closing the valves or the bypass cock (if installed)
downstream of the filter, to reach maximum pressure and obtain the best level of cleaning for the cartridge.
EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
With time, the cartridge cleaning operations performed through routine maintenance can become an issue due to
possible deposits on the cartridge net.
In this case, perform an extraordinary cleaning procedure on the cartridge as follows:
- stop the flow of water upstream of the filter;
- discharge the filter pressure by opening a valve of the hydraulic system downstream of the filter or the drain
cock;
- open the filter by unscrewing the bowl from the head by using the special opening key (supplied as standard);
- take out the cartridge (use protective gloves to avoid any scratches due to the worn out mesh);
- wash the cartridge under a jet of cold water and, if necessary, use a soft brush to remove most of the impurities.
If the cartridge is damaged, replace it with a new one;
- check that the sealing O-rings are adequately lubricated (replace the O-rings if necessary);
- insert the clean cartridge into its housing in the head;
- tighten the bowl to the head;
- start up the filter again by following the “START-UP PROCEDURE”
WARNING:
the cartridge and the bowl have an average service life: we recommend replacing the cartridge at least
every 3 years. The filter bowl must be replaced with a new one at least every 5 years. Cartridges and bowls that
cannot be used any more must be disposed of in compliance with applicable provisions.
Accurate routing/extraordinary maintenance, and regular programmed controls, guarantee preservation over time
and equipment efficiency.
WARNING:
all routine and extraordinary maintenance operations must be carried out with by hydraulically
disconnecting the appliance. Any operation on the equipment must only be carried out after reading the safety
requirements listed in this manual.
ATTENTION:
the purchaser is authorised to intervene on the equipment only to clean the filtering element. With
regard to operations not described or extraordinary ones, they can only be performed by a specialised technical
assistance centre.
NOTE:
particular conditions of use (type of water, operating pressure, etc.) can result in maintenance being required
more frequently and at closer intervals.
TROUBLESHOOTING
HYDROPUL
filters are manufactured by following the strictest quality control standards and undergo strict efficiency
and resistance tests. Here below is a series of inconveniences that may occur due to faulty installation, maintenance
or non-intended uses, due to possible oversights during use or, lastly, due to the wear of the filter and its parts.
CAUSE
- Cartridge clogged.
- Bowl damaged.
- Shut-off valves and/or bypass
valves closed.
- Cartridge damaged.
- Cartridge gasket ruined.
- Bypass valve open.
- Insufficient pressure inside bowl.
- Sealing o-ring of bowl ruined.
- Sealant (TEFLON
®
) insufficient.
- Exhaust valve gasket ruined.
REMEDY
- Clean the cartridge, following the
extraordinary maintenance
procedures.
- Replace the bowl and relative o-
ring.
- Open the closed shut-off or
bypass valve.
- Replace the cartridge.
- Replace the ruined gasket of the
cartridge.
- Close the bypass valve.
- Check whether the drain pipe
has any bottlenecks or narrow
elbows; eliminate the problem.
- Replace the o-ring.
- Apply a few turns of sealant
(TEFLON
®
).
- Replace the gasket.
PROBLEM
No water comes out from the taps.
Non-filtered water comes out from
the taps.
The cartridge does not clean.
Leakage of water between head and
bowl of filter.
Leakage of water from connections
between piping and side threads of
filter.
Leakage of water between bowl and
exhaust valve.
