Replacing rotor and/or O-rings
of covers
You do not have to remove the outer housing and
the rubber isolators to replace the rotor and/or the
O-rings. To offer a better a view, the following
illustrations show the hydraulic compactor with its
outer housing and rubber isolators removed.
These illustrations, which serve as an example, show
the HC 850, but the basic procedure also applies to
all other types.
♦
Remove the screws securing the covers to the
rotor housing.
♦
Lift away both covers and deposit them on a clean
and level work surface.
♦
Feed two fitting steel bars through the upper holes
in the covers.
NOTICE
Part falling
The rotor is not secured to the bearing cover. When
pulled out of the unit, it may slip out of the bearing
and fall down. The falling rotor may lead to injury and
damage.
►
Make sure that the rotor cannot fall.
♦
Remove the bearing cover with the rotor from the
motor side by pulling.
♦
Remove the bearing cover from the other side by
pulling.
♦
Lift the bearing covers from the steel bars.
♦
Deposit the bearing covers on a clean and level
work surface.
♦
Pull the rotor out of the bearing cover.
♦
Replace the defective rotor.
♦
Insert the rotor in the bearing cover on the motor
side.
♦
Check the O-rings for damage.
♦
Replace defective O-rings.
♦
Push the bearing covers against the rotor housing
using the steel bars.
♦
Remove the steel bars.
♦
Install the covers.
