Track Removal
The rubber tracks may need to
be removed periodically to
inspect undercarriage compo-
nents or for replacement if worn
or damaged.
To remove tracks:
1.
Raise the machine off of the
ground and mechanically sup-
port it on ASV jack stands at a
height that allows just enough
clearance for track removal.
The recommended distance is
3-4” from the bottom of the
track to the ground.
2.
Remove the outer snap ring
and grease cover on the outer
front 14” idler wheel (fig. 2, 3).
Then remove the nut and
washer from the axle (fig. 4,
5). Leave the wheel in place
for now.
3.
Loosen the bleeder bolt (I) on
the grease tension unit (J)
and allow grease to flow out
until the front wheels are
almost touching the 10”
wheels behind them (fig. 1).
Then tighten the bleeder bolt
to hold them in place (fig. 6).
This will put slack in the track
and allow the two front 10”
wheels to be removed (fig. 7).
