Engine Oil Specifications
Use ASV 10W-30 Heavy Duty
Engine Oil for most conditions.
In the event of an alternate
working environment, the chart
above may be used as a guide
to oil viscosity grades.
You may also use a quality
engine oil substitute meeting the
following minimum specification:
• API CH-4 multigrade engine
oil.
Oil Level Check
To check the oil level:
1.
Park the machine on level
ground.
2.
Remove the engine cover to
gain access to the engine
compartment.
3.
Locate and remove the
engine oil dipstick (A) from
its tube.
4.
Wipe the dipstick with a
clean shop cloth and re-
insert it into the tube until it
comes to rest in its seated
position.
5.
Remove the dipstick
once again and inspect the
end for oil on the level indi-
cator.
6.
Oil should be present on
the dipstick up to, but
not over the upper (full)
level indicator notch. If
the level is correct, re-
install the dipstick and
then reinstall the engine
cover to complete the
procedure.
7.
If the level is low, add the
proper grade and viscosity
engine oil and re-check as
necessary until the proper
level has been achieved.
Then re-install the dipstick
and filler cap and install the
engine cover to complete
the procedure.
