3.7.2 Custom rule mode
To enable Custom rule mode
1. From the menu, click
Traffic Control -> Custom Rule
. The Custom Rule
screen is displayed.
2. Configure the following settings:
•
Bandwidth
: To use custom mode QoS, you have to specify the real maximum
bandwidth of your Internet broadband access, and the following bandwidth
control calculation are all based on this real bandwidth value. If you have
incorrectly set this value, the QoS behavior may appear strange and will not
match your expectations.
•
Voice prior option
: Assign the allowed percentage of maximum bandwidth to
be used for non-VoIP traffics. All the allowed user-defined rule bandwidth traffic
will be multiplied with this percentage value to come out with the real allowable
bandwidth for use.
•
Undefined traffic option
: The “Undefined traffic” means the packets not
defined in the custom rule. You can choose if it is allowed for undefined traffic
to use the full bandwidth when there is no VoIP activity.
3. When done, click
Apply
.
NOTE
: To add QoS custom rules, click
Add Rule
and define the allowed
bandwidths for specified traffic.
