IMPORTANT
The vials in the Instrument Calibrator Kit should always be inserted into the Vial Holder in
the same orientation. The labels for these vials should face toward the front of the
Instrument, with the vertical lines on the vials facing forward.
Use the CAL A provided in the Instrument Calibrator Kit. Insert it
into the Instrument.
When the readings are complete, the Instrument will prompt to
remove CAL A, followed by:
Insert
CAL B Vial
CAL B, CAL C and CAL D are sequentially inserted, following the
prompts. The entire process requires approximately twelve minutes
to complete.
When an instrument calibration is successful, the date of the last
Instrument Calibration will change to the current day. This date is
printed on the footer of subsequent pipette calibration Printouts. If
the Instrument fails its calibration, the date will not change. See
Appendix B for an example Printout.
NOTE:
Refer to Section 7.2, “Troubleshooting Guide,” if the Instrument Calibration fails.
At the completion of the Instrument Calibration the results will be
printed (refer to “PCS Printouts”, Appendix B) indicating:
Reading Data
1.
Average absorbance reading at 520 nm for each of the four
vials (CAL A is used as the zero and hence has a value of
zero)
2.
Standard deviation of the 520 nm readings for each of the
four vials
3.
Average absorbance reading at 730 nm for each of the four
vials (CAL A is used as the zero and hence has a value of
zero)
4.
Standard deviation of the 730 nm readings for each of the
four vials
