Print while Linked
On. Turn Off? (Y/N)
The Print while Linked flag determines whether or not the PCS will
continue to print most pipette calibration results while it is operating
“Linked” to a host computer. If a manual Printout on the PCS printer is
desired, this flag should be set to ON; if not, it should be set to OFF.
Press
YES
to change the state of the Print while Linked flag. If no change
is needed, press

or
Request Missing IDs
On. Turn Off? (Y/N)
The Request Missing IDs flag determines whether or not the PCS will
request a missing operator ID and/or pipette ID from the operator while it
is operating “Linked” to a host computer. If the flag is ON and the host
computer is missing either or both of the IDs, the PCS will request it/them
from the operator. They can then be included in the Printout (if the Print
while Linked flag is ON) and passed back to the host PC as part of the
calibration record.
Press
YES
to change the state of the Request Missing IDs flag. If no
change is needed, press

Serial Data Output (Data Collect Flag)
There are two ways the PCS can transmit calibration data to a PC over a
serial link. The more powerful uses the “Link to Computer” option at the
main menu. This option effectively gives control of the PCS to the host
PC, and requires that the PC run software capable of controlling the PCS,
such as ARTEL Pipette Tracker™ software. The Serial Data Output
provides an alternative method for those users who wish to capture
calibration data in a PC, but don’t want the PC to control the process.
When the Serial Data Output is enabled (by setting the Data Collection
flag to ON), the PCS will transmit a report to the PC at the end of each
calibration.
Note that the Computer Link and Serial Data Output use different
communication formats, and should not be mixed. If the “Link to
Computer” option is being used, the Data Collection flag should be turned
off.
When the Data Collection Flag is turned on, calibration results are
available at the RS232 port on the rear panel of the Instrument (9600 bits
