Transfer using an ArjoHuntleigh
lift hygiene chair (14 steps)
Sitting residents may be transferred from their
bed or wheelchair with the help of an Arjo-
Huntleigh lift hygiene chair.
(See Fig. 1)

Remove the splash guard and the chair from
the
Prelude
, before transferring the resident
from their bed or wheelchair.

Position the lift hygiene chair in front of the
Prelude
with the resident’s back towards
the
Prelude
.
Raise the lift hygiene chair and push it care-
fully as far as possible into the
Prelude.

First, apply the castor brakes and lower the
resident to an ergonomic working height.
Then fold away the hand rest.

Loosen the lift hygiene chair safety belt and
undress the resident then fasten the safety
belt back again.

Reposition the splash guard.

WARNING
To avoid entrapment of the resi-
dents or caregivers legs or feet,
make sure that they are kept clear
of all obstacles.

WARNING
To avoid entrapment, make sure to
keep the residents hair, arms and
feet close to the body and use des-
ignated grab supports during any
movement.
Set shower controls, then shower and sham-
poo the resident from his or her head down-
wards.

Adjust the height of the lift hygiene chair
for easy access during showering.
(See Fig. 5)
10 Place a towel around the residents shoul-
ders after having washed and rinsed the
upper body.
11 Use the flush function if the
Shower &
Disinfection panel
is equipped with a flush
valve or a flush button.
12 Remove the splash guard for easy shower
access to lower body, legs and feet.

13 Make sure to rinse away all soap, shampoo
and bath oil collected at the bottom of the
Prelude.
14 Make sure to disinfect the
Prelude
after
every use to prevent cross-contamination.

WARNING
To prevent scalding, always check
the water temperature with your
naked hand before directing the
water on the resident. Do note use
gloves at it may insulate to the
extent that the water temperature
can be misjudged. Point the flow of
the water away from the resident.
