Patient restraints should be used in compliance with federal and
state regulations and in accordance with the healthcare
facility’s own policies and procedures.

Do not attach patient restraints to any part of the bed other than
detailed above, e.g. end panels or side rails.

Patient restraints, even when used correctly, can result in
entrapment and injury, particularly if the patient is restless or
disoriented. The decision to use patient restraints must be
made by the clinician overseeing the care of the individual
patient following a full risk assessment.

Patient restraints are not intended as substitutes for good
nursing practice. ArjoHuntleigh makes no clinical
recommendations regarding the use of such restraints.
