2.3 Record
Mode
Time division multiplexing (TDM) combines several camera input signals into one video output signal.
Single fields are digitally captured from each of the video-input channels, and then stacked
consecutively to form a continuous video signal of time-sliced camera fields. (See the example
below.)
Captured fields are controlled by an internal Record List, which the system modifies in case of alarms,
motion detection, or video loss. A single VCR can then record the multiplexed video fields.
NOTE:
Time base correction is performed during digital capture. As a result, cameras do not
require synchronisation.
For example, three multiplexed inputs are recorded like this:
-
A1
A2
A3
A4
A5
A6
A7
-

Multiplexed video stream to VCR
Record mode is activated by pressing the
RECORD
button, and can be locked on. Ensure that the
VCR has also been set to
Record
.
NOTE:
This unit has an Auto-Record feature. When using the VEXT connection to the VCR, the
multiplexer will automatically return to the record mode when pulses are received from the
VCR.
While the ATA-4/9 CSqX/MSqX is recording, all the displays on the monitor are live, full-screen
displays, unless
VCR VIEW
mode is selected. The user can sequence the live full-screen camera
images, or select a fixed live camera for display while recording.
