Install Blade
1. Lubricate the first 4 – 5 bolt threads with
SAE 30-weight oil.
2. Position blade against blade adapter and
secure with one flat steel washer, locking
washer and hex bolt.
NOTICE:
Blade MUST be installed with
cutting edges positioned upward.
3. Torque hardware to 43.4 N•m (23 lb-ft).
4. Return unit to operating position and
reconnect spark plug wire.
CHECK DRIVE BELT
Models 911175, 911179
Check drive belt and replace if worn or
damaged. Refer to the service guide for your
unit.
CHECK FASTENERS
Check for loose or missing hardware. Give
special attention to blade hardware and all
guards, shields and safety devices.
LUBRICATE UNIT
1. Apply oil to all pivot points and pin
connections.
Lubricate Ground Drive System
Models 911175, 911179
IMPORTANT:
Lubricate both sides of ground
drive system.
See Figure 29.
1. Place a support, such as a wood block,
under deck rear.
2. Remove dust caps and shoulder bolts
retaining rear wheels and remove wheels.
3. Remove E-ring from transmission shaft
ends and remove pinion sprockets.
4. Clean dirt and debris from transmission
shaft ends and pinion sprocket. Apply
anti-seize to shaft end.
NOTICE:
DO NOT apply grease to gear
teeth. Clean grease and debris from gear
teeth before reassembly.
5. Reinstall wheels and secure with
shoulder bolts.
6. Reinstall dust caps.
