OPERATOR PRESENCE
CONTROL (OPC) LEVER
See Figure 7.
Allows for engine start, operation and blade
rotation when pulled against handlebar. Lever
MUST remain engaged to mow.
When released, blade rotation disengages
and engine stops.
IMPORTANT: Releasing the OPC lever stops
engine and blade within 3 seconds. If feature
fails, see your Ariens dealer.
REAR DOOR
Opens to collect grass clippings while
bagging or to install mulch plug for side
discharge or mulching setup.
MULCH PLUG
Installs in rear door for mulching or side
discharge setup. See

on page 13 or Side Discharge Grass
Clippings on page 12.
GRASS BAG
Collects grass clippings for bagging setup.

HANDLEBAR
Height-adjustable for operator comfort. See

CUTTING HEIGHT-ADJUSTMENT
LEVER
Adjusts cutting height from 2.5 cm – 10.2 cm
(1" – 4") in 1.3 cm (1/2") increments. See
Adjust Cutting Height on page 14.
ENGINE KEY

Starts the engine on fully-charged
electric-start models.
DECK WASHOUT PORT
When secured to coupler, garden hose
fastens to washout port and washes grass
clippings and debris from under deck. See
Wash Deck on page 18.
