ACTIONS BEFORE OPERATION
PERFORM DAILY
•
Choose suitable blades for the purpose
Flat blades: to remove snow and slush
Ice blades or pin blades: to remove packed snow and ice
Rubber blades: salting
•
Check the condition of the blades. The blades must be turned or
changed when the gap between the cutting edge and the free hole
has worn to 25 mm.
•
Always adjust the cutting angle to suit the work. Lower the blade,
drive a couple of meters and check the quality of the work. If
necessary, readjust.
•
Check mortise joints and hydraulic hoses and fittings. Check
cylinders for any possible leaks.
•
Check the working light of the centre-mounted scraper, vehicle lights,
warning indicator and reflectors. Make sure that they are clean and
intact.
•
Keep spare pins with you.
•
Clean the centre-mounted scraper daily of snow and slush. Remove
possible burrs from the cutting edge of the blade.
