Foot Brake Pedal (Main Brake)

Pressing the foot brake pedal downward
will apply brakes to all wheels.
The main brake should be applied when-
ever a braking situation is needed.
Hand Brake Lever/Brake Lever
Lock

Apply the brake by compressing the
brake lever toward the handlebar.
To engage and release the brake lever
lock, use the following procedure.
1. Squeeze the left-side hand brake lever
two or three times and release it.
2. Depress and hold the brake lever
lock.
3. While holding in on the brake lever
lock, squeeze the brake lever.
NOTE: It will click as it engages
and the brake lever will not return to
its released position.
4. Release the brake lever lock by
squeezing the brake lever. It will
return to its released position.
Check to make sure the brake lever lock
engages properly and that the brake
(when engaged) locks the wheels.
1. Pump the brake lever 2 or 3 times.
2. Engage the brake lever lock.
3. Attempt to push the ATV.
NOTE: The brake lever lock must
lock the wheels. If it doesn’t, take
the ATV to an authorized Arctic Cat
ATV dealer for service.
Emergency/Parking Brake

To engage and release the emergency/
parking brake, use the following proce-
dure.
1. While squeezing the right-side brake
lever, squeeze the emergency/park-
ing brake aligning the pin on the
brake assembly with the groove in
the emergency/parking brake.
NOTE: It will click as it engages
and the brake lever will not return to
its released position.
2. Release
the
emergency/parking
brake by squeezing the brake lever.
It will return to its released position.
! WARNING
Always check to be sure that the
brake lever lock has been disen-
gaged before operating the ATV. An
accident could result if the brake
lever lock is left engaged while the
ATV is operated. The brake may
relax if left engaged for a long period
of time. This could cause an acci-
dent; therefore, do not leave the ATV
on a hill depending on the brake
lever lock. Always engage emer-
gency/parking brake (right side).
