2. Turn the idle adjustment screw in or out until the engine idles at
1250-1350
RPM.
THROTTLE CABLE ADJUSTMENT
To adjust the throttle cable freeplay:
1. Slide the rubber boot away;
then loosen the jam nut (1) from
the throttle housing.
2. Turn the throttle cable adjuster
(2) until the throttle lever has
proper free-play of 3-6 mm
(1/8 - 1/4 in.).
3. Tighten the jam nut (1) against
the throttle housing securely; then slide the rubber boot over the
adjuster.
AIR FILTER (V-Belt Housing)
The air fi lter in the V-belt housing cooling inlet must be kept clean.
If the ATV is used under normal conditions, service the fi lter at the
intervals specifi ed. If operated in dusty, wet, or muddy conditions
inspect and service the fi lter more frequently. Use the following
procedure to remove the fi lter and inspect and/or clean it.
1. Remove the two screws securing the fi lter housing to the inside
of the left-front fender.
2. Remove the fi lter housing cover. Tap the fi lter lightly to remove
dust and debris; then use compressed air to thoroughly
clean
the
fi
lter.
3. Install the fi lter housing cover onto the fi lter housing.
4. Place the fi lter housing into position inside
the left-front fender. Tighten the two screws securely.

Adjust the idle to the correct RPM. Make sure the engine is at
normal operating temperature before adjusting the idle RPM.

Inspect the fi lter element. If damaged or torn, it must be re-
placed.
