Connecting the Socket
• Connect gas hose to the shut-off valve (Ex. 9) and wrench
tighten. After making all connections, perform a leak test as
described below.
• Be sure to follow all applicable codes and requirements of the
Authority Having Jurisdiction.
Installing Fire Media
• Place lava rock or fire glass by hand. DO NOT dump bag out into tray to avoid clogging the burner with dust.
• Position the media to no more than 1/2" above the top of the burner ring.
• Make sure that you do not block the igniter box with lava rock to ensure proper ignition (Ex. 10).
NOTE:
DO NOT mix or stack multiple types of fire media in the burner pan.
Pre-Use Instructions
WARNING:
Before using this fire feature, make sure you have read, understand and are following all information
provided in the Important Safety Information section of this manual. Failure to follow those instructions can cause
death, serious injury, or property damage.
• Prior to each fire feature operation, check the hose and valve for evidence of excessive wear or damage. Replace damaged
or worn-out hoses before using the fire feature.
• Make sure the regulator valve and hose connections are securely fastened to the feature, control system, and the tank. If
your unit was assembled for you, visually check all connections.
WARNING:
Failure to inspect this connection or follow these instructions could cause a fire or an explosion, which
can cause death, serious bodily injury, or damage to property.
• If any connections are not fastened securely, please contact your gas supplier for assistance.
Checking for Leaks
• Use a leak detector or leak check solution to verify there are no leaks at any of the connections.
• If a leak is detected, turn the gas OFF, reconnect, and re-test.
• If you still detect a leak, turn gas off and contact your gas supplier.
