Properly Apply Antifreeze to the Prism Assembly
Use the guide below to properly apply the propylene glycol
mixture to the prism assembly of the refractometer. Once that
is complete, peer through the eyeglass of the refractometer to
continue to the next step.
Adjust the Boundary Line
Once the glycol solution has been properly applied, adjust the
calibration screw until the boundary line labelled “Propylene
Glycol” is set to 32°F. The graphic to the right has been de-
signed as an aid, but note that it may differ from what is
shown in the refractometer sight glass.
