Data Logger 422 User Manual
Chapter 6: Connecting the DL422-B
DL422-B to Serial Input
The DL422-B is packaged with one
12-socket serial input cable, Figure 4.
This cable connects the DL422-B to an appropriately rated serial
instrument.
One end of this connector is the same 12-socket circular IP67
connector found at the base of the TriSonica Sphere and Pipe-
Mount Sensors.
At the other end is a JST GHR-06V-S snap connector that must be
snapped into the instrument header on the circuit board, as
shown in Figure 5 .
Be careful to snap the connector into the
correct header for the intended purpose.
Instrument headers
and other elements of the circuit board geography are described
in Chapter 7:
Figure 3: DL422 Pinout Chapter 5
shows the signal connections and positions when looking at
the serial input cable connector from the socket side.
Connecting to TriSonica Sensors
Either end of an Anemoment 12-pin double-terminated cable may be connected to the serial input
cable, and a TriSonica sensor attached to the other end of the cable.
Connecting to Other Serial Instruments
A serial instrument other than a TriSonica sensor may be connected to the DL422 by wiring the
serial instrument to an Anemoment 12-pin single-terminated cable with blunt-cut end.
Table 3, Chapter 5 above, gives the signal-name-to-wire-color match for the Anemoment 12-pin
single-terminated cable. The
user is responsible for correctly attaching the wires
from the serial
instrument to the mating connector, and for properly sealing the connector-to-cable interface.

Additional 12-Socket Serial Input Cables may be purchased from Anemoment. Information about the
connectors and wire positions is provided to guide skilled electronic technicians in making custom-built cables.
Anemoment is not responsible for the function of custom-built cables.
