DATA LOGGER SOFTWARE
Your
PortaSens II
gas detector is supplied with “DataLog” software used to transfer
stored data to a computer running Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 2000. The software is
supplied on a CD ROM for installation.
Installing Software
To load the software on to your computer, place the disk in you CD drive, click the Start button,
and run “setup”. During the setup program, you will be prompted to answer a few questions
regarding the location in which you want to store program and data files. Accepting the default
values is recommended for most installations. Simply follow the prompts as they appear on your
display. At the end, click FINISH. The setup will complete and your PC will restart.
Logging Periods
Each time the data logger is started and stopped, the data stored during that interval is
separated into a separate data log within the C16 memory. That data is stored along with
information about which sensor was used to gather the data and the range over which data was
logged. When this data is transferred to a computer, each of the logging periods is separated so
that stored data can be easily identified.
As explained later in this manual, the transferred data may be stored with separate files
for each logging period or with all periods combined into one file. Either way, the data is easily
identified as to the gas sensor used, and the data is converted to engineering units.
