MAINTENANCE 

 
 
 

Series  C16  gas  detectors  require  little  maintenance.    Sensors  do  not  have  a  regular 

service  requirement  other  than  calibration,  and  pumps  are  sealed  and  permanently  lubricated.  
The  only  item  in  the  instrument  that  requires  periodic  maintenance  is  a  filter  that  protects  the 
pump against particulate that might cause it to stall.  Check the filter at least monthly and replace 
when dirty. 
 
 

The filter is a small disk of filter fabric that is located in the sensor recess behind the flow 

manifold.    Unscrew  the  two  captive  screws  holding  the  flow  manifold  in  place  and  remove  the 
manifold.  The filter is just above the sensor and is simply pressed into the filter cavity.  Remove 
the old filter disk and put a new one in its place.  A bag of filters is supplied with the instrument 
and additional filter disks are available from ATI.
