CAUTION
A battery can present a risk of electrical shock. Short-circuit currents can
be extremely high and can create severe burns as well as the risk of fire or
explosion from vented gases. Always observe proper precautions.
When replacing batteries, use the same quantity, rating and type of batter-
ies used by AMETEK Powervar. The batteries used in this UPM are sealed
lead-acid and are maintenance free. Proper disposal of batteries is required.
Refer to your local codes for disposal of batteries.

ceptacles of the UPM may be live even when the UPM is not connect-
ed to an AC Supply.
