Reporting Memory
The system memory configuration is reported by AMIBIOS as it
boots and again in the BIOS System Configuration Screen
displayed when AMIBIOS boots DOS.
If the system has up to 8 MB of RAM, the memory shown by
AMIBIOS is 128 KB less than the total amount of memory
installed because parts of the memory between 640K and 1 MB
are used for system and video BIOS shadowing. If the system has
16 MB of RAM or more, the memory shown by AMIBIOS is 384
KB less than the total amount of memory installed.
Memory Features
• If both SIMM banks are filled, all memory is interleaved.
• Fast page access is supported.
• Burst support is provided.
• Hidden refresh is supported.

if both SIMM banks are used,
Bank1 must be filled before
Bank0.
• If only one SIMM bank is filled, it must be Bank0. Bank0 is the
four SIMM sockets
nearest
the expansion slots.
• Install SIMMs before installing adapter cards. Some of the
SIMMs in Bank0 cannot be installed if an adapter card is in the
adjacent expansion slot. Also, if adding SIMMs to Bank1 for
the first time, remove the Bank0 SIMMs first.
