Cleaning, maintenance and repairs
Checking the function of the automatic linkage adjuster
1. Remove the rubber stopper cap.
2. Slacken the adjusting screw (arrow) with a
ring spanner approx. ¾ of a turn anti-
clockwise. There must be a free travel of at
least 50 mm for a lever length of 150 mm.
3. Actuate the brake lever several times by
hand. This should cause a smooth automat-
ic readjustment; it should be possible to
hear the coupling engaging and, on the
back stroke, the adjusting screw should turn
clockwise slightly.
4. Refit the stopper cap.
5. Lubricate with BPW ECO_Li91 special high
melting point grease.

Draining the air reservoir
1. Run the tractor engine (approx. 3 mins.)
until the compressed air tank has filled.
2. Switch off the tractor engine, apply the
handbrake and remove the ignition key.
3. Pull the drainage valve (Fig. 58/1) in a
sideways direction by the ring until no more
water escapes from the compressed air
tank.
4. If the escaping water is dirty, let off air, un-
screw the drainage valve from the com-
pressed air tank and clean the compressed
air tank.
The compressed air tank must not
•
move around in the tensioning belts
•
be damaged
•
show any outward signs of corrosion dam-
age
The rating plate must not
•
show signs of corrosion
•
be loose
•
be missing

Replace the compressed air tank
(workshop), if one of the above-stated
