Appliance Maintenance

2. Make sure appliance is not plugged into a power 

  source and the interconnect cord is disconnected from 

  the appliance’s cover. Remove cover and HEPA filter.

3. Loosen, but do not remove, the four screws that 

  secure cover support to the base.

4. Twist the cover support (Figure 7) clockwise 

  approximately 1 in, (2,54 cm), and lift up.

 

5. Remove the old light filter and discard.

6. Replace with new light filter and reverse the 

  removal process.

NOTE:

  When securing the cover support to the base, 

align dots (Figure 8) on the cover support with the base. 

   

Light Bulb Replacement

WARNING:

  UV-C emitted from this device.  

CAUTION:

  Do not operate device without filter and 

cover securely attached.

WARNING:

  This device uses UV-C bulbs or lamps that 

contain Mercury.  The U.S. Environmental Protection 

Agency, (EPA), classifies Mercury as hazardous waste.  

The bulbs cannot be disposed as trash or rubbish.  

They must be recycled.  For more information, see the 

following:

CAUTION:

  Fan must be operating prior to supplying 

power to UV-C bulbs.  Supplying power to bulbs without 

fan operating will cause bulbs to overheat and fail.
1.  Make sure appliance is not plugged into a 

  receptacle or other power source and the 

  interconnect cord is disconnected from the 

  appliance’s cover.

2.  Remove retaining screw from the cover.  Note the 

  orientation of the cover.  

3.  Place the cover upside down on a sturdy, horizontal 

 surface.

4.  Remove the old bulb(s) (Figure 9) and replace with 

  the new one(s).

CAUTION:

  Do not use a tool to tighten bulbs.  Only 

tighten by hand.  Tighten bulbs by grasping the plastic 

base.  Do not grasp the glass tubes.
5.  Recycle old bulbs in accordance with all applicable 

 regulations.
