Have the coolant analyzed regularly to determine when it is
necessary to add SCA’s.
For further information on engine coolant, contact your autho-
rized dealer.
Check Engine Coolant
Check coolant level using the coolant level indicator (
A
,
Figure 26). Coolant level should be between FULL and LOW
on the indicator.
NOTICE
Failure to maintain engine coolant level could result in engine
damage.

Add Engine Coolant
1. Remove the coolant fill access plate (
A
, Figure 27), locat-
ed on the roof toward the rear of the heater trailer.
NOTE: A ladder is needed to access the location. Do not
climb the back of the heater trailer.
2. Remove the coolant fill cap.
WARNING
Rapid release of hot coolant under pressure could result in
death or serious injury. Use extreme caution when open-
ing the radiator cap, and always wear eye protection and
heat resistant gloves.
3. Add coolant as needed. If necessary, add small
amounts, check the indicator, and repeat as needed.
NOTE: Use of a funnel is recommended.
4. Replace the coolant fill cap and the coolant fill access
plate.

Change engine coolant
1. Drain the engine coolant into an approved container
using the fluid drain station. See ‘Fluid Drain Station’.
2. Add engine coolant as needed using the coolant fill. See
Coolant Recommendations. See Specifications for cool-
ant system capacity.
Engine Air Filter
The engine air filter is located inside the body of the trailer,
and cannot be accessed without removing body panels.
Contact your authorized dealer for engine air filter service.
Fluid Drain Station
The fluid drain station (Figure 28) is equipped with conve-
nient drains for all of the essential heater trailer fluids. Each
drain has a separate control valve, and is identified by a
color:
Blue - Coolant (
A
)
Red - Oil (
B
)
Green - Fuel (
C
)
There is also a drain for the fluid containment tray (
D
, Figure
28) built into the bottom of the heater trailer to catch excess
fluids that may have leaked or spilled. This tray also has two
larger auxiliary drains at the rear of the trailer, one on either
side. See Features and Controls.
To use the drain station
1. Place an approved container beneath the drain station,
or transport the heater trailer to an approved site.
2. Remove the drain plug from the appropriate drain.
NOTE: If fluid begins to flow as the drain plug is removed,
retighten the drain plug, close the control valve, then
remove the plug.
NOTE: The fluid containment drain (
D
, Figure 28) is not
equipped with a control valve, and will begin to empty
