Getting Started
The ControlNet adapter features the following:
•
The adapter is mounted in the PowerFlex drive. It receives the
required power from the drive.
•
A number of configuration tools can be used to configure the adapter
and connected drive. The tools include the PowerFlex HIM on the
drive, or drive-configuration software such as DriveExplorer (version
2.01 or higher) or DriveExecutive (version 1.01 or higher).
•
Status indicators report the status of the drive, adapter, and network.
They are visible both when the cover is opened and when it is closed.
•
I/O, including Logic Command/Reference and up to four pairs of
Datalinks, may be configured for your application using parameters.
•
Explicit messages are supported.
•
User-defined fault actions determine how the adapter and PowerFlex
drive respond to communication disruptions on the network.
DPI™ (Drive Peripheral Interface) is a second generation peripheral
communication interface. The ControlNet adapter is compatible with
Allen-Bradley PowerFlex drives and other products that support DPI.
DPI is a functional enhancement to SCANport (See
). At the
time of publication, compatible products include:
