Installation Guide: 601, 602, and 604 Routers

Port Upgrade/Activation

The Alcatel  OmniAccess 601, OmniAccess 602, and OmniAccess 604 router base system ships 
with one active WAN port. Activating additional ports requires only a simple change to the 
router configuration with a software key that may be purchased to activate up to three 
additional WAN ports. This key is different than the software upgrade key.

To obtain a port upgrade key, contact your reseller or Alcatel. You will be asked to provide the 
serial number, model number, and the number of ports that are currently active on your 
router. 

The following procedure describes how to activate additional WAN ports in the  OmniAccess 
601, OmniAccess 602, and OmniAccess 604 router.

From the command line interface, issue the following command:

Alcatel> 

configure terminal

Issue the following command:

Alcatel> 

system licenses < option >

The option parameters are:

n

enable_1_port

n

enable_2_ports

You will be prompted for the port upgrade license key.

Enter the license key provided. 

The license key is case sensitive.

Reboot the router.
