4. OPERATION
This section describes the significance of the front panel indicators of the SMC2000C01
module and their remote control and monitoring ability.
4.1. Front panel description
The appearance of the front panel and the elements it contains are shown in the
following illustration.

Each of the two electrical ports has an associated green LED that lights up when the link
operates at 1Gbit/s, stays off for other datarates and a yellow LED that both lights up to
indicate that the link has been established and blinks when there is activity. The optical
port has a single associated yellow LED that lights up when the link has been
established.
