1.2. Features
• Synchronization master generator module for synchronous Ethernet.
• Includes:
- Two electrical ports using RJ45 connectors at 10/100/1000Mbit/s.
- One receptacle into which an SFP module can be installed that operates at
1000/2500Mbit/s.
• The characteristics that distinguish this module from a conventional switch are:
- The ports are configured in master mode to guarantee that the links with equipment
connected to the module will use its reference clock.
- Provides an Ethernet Synchronization Message Channel (ESMC) to transmit
messages containing the Synchronization Status Message (SSM) as per the ITU-T G.
8264 standard.
• The optical cage can accept 1000Base-LX, 1000Base-SX, SFP 1000Base-LX and
1000Base-CX SFP modules from any manufacturer that complies with the SFP-MSA
standard.
• Module control and supervision can be done remotely when the mounting frame is
equipped with a communications controller module.
• Low power.
