13. TRANSPORTING THE TRACTOR AND WINDROWER
Inherent dangers of operating the tractor and implement and the possibility of accidents are not left behind when
you finish windrowing an area. Therefore, the operator must employ good judgement and safe operation practices
when transporting the tractor and implement between locations. By using good judgement and following safe
transport procedures, the possibility of accidents while moving between locations can be substantially minimized.
Lower transport wheel.
Secure the transport wheel lock pin with the transport hole.
NOTE:
The interlock rotator prevents the hitch pole from
sliding out of the working cradle until the transport wheel has
been lowered.
Disconnect gearbox output driveline.
Hang driveline in storage location.
IMPORTANT:
Failure to disconnect the driveline will result
in damage to the driveline.
Raise the wheel lock pins into the temporary position.
Remove the wedge lock from the transport cradle.
Store the wedge lock in the holder on the hitch pole.
Back up tractor while turning the wheels to the left.
Pivot the windrower until the hitch pole fits securely into the
transport cradle.
Lower the wheel lock pins into the pivoting wheel assembly.
Install the wedge lock into the transport cradle.
NOTE:
The flat edge of the wedge lock should be against the
hitch pole.
IMPORTANT:
Before putting the rock windrower into transport position, be sure that the drum islocked into
transport position. Refer to the transportation section of this manual for complete drum lock up instructions.
