IMPORTANT : Damage to the tractor PTO and to the rock windrower can result if the drawbar is of non-standard
length. Check and make adjustments if necessary.
Connect the universal joint assembly to the tractor PTO.
WARNING!
BE SURE THAT THE TRACTOR PTO SPEED (540 RPM) MATCHES THE ROCK
WINDROWER GEARBOX SPEED.
Adjust the front hitch clevis up or down to obtain a level running position for the PTO universal joint assembly. The
universal joint assembly should not be more than 5" (127 mm) out of line (up or down) from input to output end.
Once the machine is hitched to the tractor, remove the hitch jack and place it in its storage position on the top of
the hitch pole.
Leveling the Windrower
NOTE: The rock windrower must be in working position before the machine can be leveled.
To level the machine the following procedure is recommended: First find a level piece of ground or concrete pad to
set the machine on. Insert the 1-3/8" diameter transport pin in the lock pin hole. Refer to figure 3-3
Ensure that no one is near the machine
while the hydraulics are being operated. WARNING!
Lower the windrower drum until the rear wheels are lifted off the ground slightly. Next loosen the bolts holding the
axle plates. Raise or lower the windrower frame until it is level front to back. The tires should be resting evenly on
the ground. Retighten the axle plates.
IMPORTANT: Periodically re-check the tightness of the axle plate bolts especially before transporting the
machine on public roads.
Remove the transport pin from the lock pin hole and return it to the storage hole on the main frame.
