2.3 - USING THE MOUTHPIECE
Please read section 3.3 before using the device.
To use the mouthpiece, fit it onto the upper section of the nebuliser (Fig. C).
The mouthpiece must be held in the mouth, between the teeth with the lips closed, even when you breathe out. Breathe in through the
mouth and out through the nose.
During use, do not obstruct the air outlet hole in the base.
2.4 - USING THE RINOWASH NASAL DOUCHE
Please read subsection 3.4 before using the device.
Proceed as follows to use the Rinowash:
- Pour up to 15 ml of liquid into the tank (Fig. E), reading the amount on the graduated scale.
- Fit the atomiser (20) onto the sleeve of the tank. Make sure it clicks into position.
- Fit on the outer bell (21), turning slightly, to cover the seal.
- Attach one end of the connecting tube (22) to the Rinowash connector (17) and the other end to the air intake (8).
- Press I (ON) on the switch (4) to start up.
- Place the end of the Rinowash in one nostril (Fig. F).
- Press the button on the base (16) to generate a spray.
- Therapeutic spray is delivered through the hole in the outer bell (21), and residual fluid collects in the chamber between the outer bell
and the tank (Fig. G).
- During treatment, breathe normally through the nose. If mucus forms in the nostril, blow it out. The space between the outer bell and
the tank acts as a chamber for collecting the fluid that drains out of the nose.
- Treat the nostrils alternately, as required.
Atomisation is very rapid and the session only lasts a few minutes.
Make sure all the parts are connected firmly together. Check that the ends of the tubes are inserted properly and the components
of the Rinowash are mounted correctly.
If the device is not assembled correctly, atomisation of the drug may be affected. If this happens, rotate the atomiser (20).
As stated under Important Notes, some liquids are not compatible with the materials of which the nebuliser, mask and the Rinowash are
made. They may interact and cause damage (the materials are shown in section 7 - DISPOSING OF THE DEVICE AND ITS COMPONENTS).
3 - CLEANING, DISINFECTION AND STERILISATION
Before proceeding, unplug the device and disconnect the nebuliser, Rinowash and tube.
If it is necessary to clean, disinfect or sterilise this medical device using a method other that given in this section, contact the
manufacturer first.
3.1 - CLEANING, DISINFECTING AND STERILISING THE BASIC UNIT
3.1.1 - CLEANING THE BASIC UNIT
The basic unit (1) must not be cleaned in water as it could get inside and damage the electrical components, which would cause a safety
hazard.
Clean the basic unit (1) with a soft damp cloth, with a small amount of mild (non-abrasive) detergent if necessary.
3.1.2 - DISINFECTING THE BASIC UNIT
The basic unit can be disinfected using a soft sponge or cloth and some cold disinfectant solution (e.g. a solution containing up to 2%
sodium hypochlorite). Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Make sure the solution is compatible with the material of which the basic unit is made. Refer to section 7 - DISPOSING OF THE DEVICE
AND ITS COMPONENTS.
3.1.3 - STERILISING THE BASIC UNIT
The basic unit (1) must not be sterilised.
3.2 - CLEANING, DISINFECTING AND STERILISING THE PERFECTA KIT
To prevent the risk of microbial contamination, the nebuliser and mask must be cleaned and disinfected, and if necessary sterilised, after
each treatment and before use, following the instructions carefully.
Before, cleaning, disinfecting or sterilising any of the components, disassemble them as follows:
- Remove the tube (22).
- Remove the mask (13, 14) or mouthpiece (15) from the nebuliser.
- Detach the fitting (14) from the mask (13).
- Unscrew the upper section (10).
- Remove the l’atomizzatore (11).
