Risers are without damage and all stitching is intact
Maillons on lines are closed correctly
All lines are free from tangles or knots
Brakes lines run freely through the pulleys
Knots on brake lines are secure
After putting on harness check the:
Position of reserve (rescue) handle and pins
Leg loops and strap are fastened correctly
Main Karabiners are closed
Before launch check that:
Speed-system is connected correctly and runs smoothly through the pulleys
Trim tabs are closed in neutral position.
Risers are not twisted
Place brake handles in the hands and check brake lines are free
Position pilot in centre of wing
Check wind direction
Check take off area is clear
Check airspace is free from congestion

Take-off
The key to successful launching is to practice ground-handling on flat ground as often as
possible.
The RAMA FLEX inflates easily and steadily using forward or reverse launch techniques. There
is no tendency for the canopy to hang back during inflation. To forward launch in light or nil
wind there is no need to pull the risers hard. Allow the glider to stabilise overhead and run
positively forward checking the canopy is fully inflated and clear of any knots or tangles.
Reverse launching is recommended in stronger winds.
When launching with the paramotor and accelerating to full throttle the pilot needs to take
into consideration torque effects from the propeller and compensate with correct brake input.
The amount of counter brake needed to compensate for torque is primarily dependent on the
amount of thrust from the engine. This minimal counter braking is simply a method to
maintain heading while launching. However, it is not recommended to actually turn against
the torque when at full throttle.
During launch, properly trained pilots will understand the need to remain in a running position,
hanging from the harness, until well off the ground. This unrestricted forward movement
through the air allows the glider to fully pressurize and create the lift it is designed for. Sitting
into the harness too early, before the wing reaches its’ required forward speed, can result in a
rapid loss of altitude. Because the pilot is already seated and not able to use his or her legs to
run out the launch the result will most likely be the cage hitting the ground, resulting in
damaged equipment and/or a prop strike.

Turning flight
You will notice the very precise handling from the first flight. The RAMA FLEX is easy to turn at
any bank angle, from flat through to steeply banked turns.
Brake pressure is progressive which enables the pilot to feel the wing and helps prevent
unintentional stalling.
