7.  Lead the cable towards the remainder of the cables running towards the 

head side of the bed. Zip ties cable to the cables until it reaches the control 

box at the head end of bed. (Only applicable to beds with serial number after 

FL250-V2-2204-24505)

8.  To connect the cord to the control box, remove the control box from the 

mounting bracket by removing the screw holding it in place and sliding 

control box out. (Only applicable to beds with serial number prior  

to FL250-V2-2204-24505)

9.  Open control box and connect the splitter cable to the port shown

NOTE: battery backup (if installed) should be unplugged in order to connect 

the splitter cable. The battery backup is plugged into the splitter cable instead. 

(See next steps)

10. Close control box and reattach to bed
11.  Attach the USB port cable to the splitter cable port marked ‘TFA’ and battery 

backup (if installed) to port marked ‘TBB’

12.  Test bed and USB port functions correctly. Ensure cables have enough slack 

to accommodate all deck panel movements

13.  Ensure cables are secured in place and protected from any moving parts  

of the bed. Zip tie excess cable length to bed frame if required

Your USB upgrade kit installation is now complete.

8. GENERAL OPERATION

8.1 CASTOR SYSTEM – BRAKES & STEERING

8.1.1 Central Locking Castors

Central locking castors are located at the foot end of the bed. The brakes are 

interlinked on either side of the bed allowing operation with a single movement 

for improved safety and efficiency.
1.  To engage the brakes push down on the red pedal as shown below until bed 

is locked in place

2.  To disengage brakes push down on the green pedal until the brake system  

is completely unlocked

Locked (Red Down)

Unlocked (Green Down)

8.1.2 Directional Locking Castors

Directional locking castors are located at the head end of the bed
1.  To engage the directional lock, ensure the green latch is pushed down  

and secured within the wheel

2.  To disengage the directional lock, pull up on the green latch until unlocked
