Damaged Machine Hazards

WARNING
• Do not use a damaged or
malfunctioning machine. Have it
checked and repaired immediately.
• When operators are changed by work
shift, perform the pre-start checks at
every change. Perform the pre-start
checks on the operatorʼs responsibility.
• Perform the pre-start checks on fi rm,
level surface, with the platform lowered.
• If the pre-start checks reveal any
abnormalities, put an “Out of Order”
sign on the machine, and cancel the
check at that point.
• Perform all maintenance described
in this manual and in the designated
service manual for the machine.
• Make sure all decals are in place and
that no decal has a loss and damage.
Any decal loss or damage is one of the
machine malfunction.
Fire Hazards

WARNING
• When handling fl ammables (fuel, oil,
etc.), be aware of anything that can
cause fi re.
• Have a fi rst-aid kit and a fi re
extinguisher ready in case of an
accident or fi re.
• If the machine is to be used in a location
where fl ammable gas is produced,
only use the machine after suffi
cient
ventilation.
Battery Safety

WARNING
• The battery fl uid contains corrosive
acid. When dealing with the battery,
always wear appropriate protective
clothing and equipment to protect your
hands, eyes, face and body, and avoid
contacting battery fl uid.
• If battery fl uid gets on the skin or on
clothing, wash it away immediately
with cold water. If it gets into the eye,
wash immediately with cold water,
and seek ophthalmological treatment
immediately.
• The battery produces fl ammable
hydrogen gas, and there is a possibility
of explosion. Never allow anything
that can cause fi re close to the battery.
Charge the battery only under good
ventilation.
Engine Safety

Scald Hazards
DANGER
• Never remove the radiator cap if the
engine is hot. Steam and hot engine
coolant will spurt out and seriously burn
you. Allow the engine to cool down
before you attempt to remove the
radiator cap.
• Tighten the radiator cap securely after
you check the radiator. Steam can spurt
out during engine operation if the cap is
loose.
Fire and Explosion Hazards
WARNING
• Never remove the fuel cap with the
engine running.
• Never refuel with the engine running.
Coolant Hazard
WARNING
• Wear eye protector and rubber gloves
when you handle long life or extended
life engine coolant. If contact with the
eyes or skin should occur, fl ush eyes and
wash immediately with clean water.
